In the mid to late 1940’s, one of the hottest jazz clubs in the country, Billy Berg’s, sat in this very location. This was the place where the iconic saxophonist, composer, and bebop pioneer Charlie Parker played his first ever West Coast show. Charlie “the Yardbird” Parker, along with the great jazz pioneer Dizzy Gillespie, revolutionized the way jazz music was written and performed. Billy Berg’s was said to be one of the first jazz clubs in the country to have black and white musicians play together on the same stage.
Billie Holiday even had an extravagant New Year’s Eve party here in 1949. The Parker Room pays homage to Billy Berg’s, celebrates jazz music, and brings back the origins of what this place once was. Enjoy your time here as you eat and drink in this historic Hollywood location.
